Hunter's Tubes in the Ear Surgery

Despite the massive snowstorm, we were still able to make it to Children's Hospital in downtown Cincinnati. It took us 1 hour and 40 minutes (normally a 35 minute drive), but we made it safely and only a little later than we were supposed to be there. Hunter wasn't able to eat for four hours prior to surgery, so I woke him up at 6 am to eat. Since I am Hunter's main food source, we thought it would be torture for me to sit next to him and not allow him to eat. So, Darin's job was to entertain Hunter while I drove this us to the hospital. Darin did a great job at keeping Hunter happy as you can see in the picture below.

As expected, the surgery was very short. We were away from him for maybe 15 minutes. He was angry and hungry when he woke up from the anesthesia. As soon as the bottle touched his lips, he stopped screaming. He slept the entire way home. After about an hour of being of home, he decided he wanted to play.

After playing, Hunter took a 1/2 hour nap and is pretty unhappy right now. We are waiting on the Tylenol to kick in. Hopefully the Tylenol and some snuggles will help ease the discomfort.
