Darin's mom, Marlene Evelyn Hintz, passed away on Wednesday, July 25th. She fought a long, recurring battle against breast cancer. She waged a tough war against the cancer. In the last few weeks, Marlene had begun researching clinical trials because her doctor had run out of options. Though we knew the end was near, it still happened sooner than we expected. We had planned a trip to Florida in a couple weeks so that she could meet Henry and we could say goodbye. Darin is flying to FL this week for the visitation and memorial. Next week, he will fly to Cleveland, OH, for a memorial mass at his parents' old church. Unfortunately, Henry is too young to fly so I'm not able to go with Darin. We will be driving to Florida in a couple weeks though, so I'll be able to see Darin's dad then.
