Father/Son Vacation

Darin and Hunter flew to Venice, Florida, to visit with Darin's parents over Mother's Day weekend.  It was only Hunter's 2nd time on a plane.  I am very proud and impressed at how well Darin handled traveling with an almost 2 year old. 

This particular chemo has been rough on Darin's mom so she wasn't able to go and do as much as she would have liked.  Grandma was able to go to the airport with Grandpa to pick up Hunter and Darin.  They had an Elmo balloon and an Elmo doll for Hunter.  Hunter was very excited about the Elmo doll and even made sure Elmo got a drink of water. 

On their first full day in FL, they went to Venice Beach and to the awesome salt water pool in Grandma and Grandpa's neighborhood.  On the 2nd day, they did some exploring around the neighborhood, went out to lunch for Grandpa's birthday, and visited a newly opened Urgent Care because Hunter was complaining of ear pain.  Hunter had some irritation in his ear so the Dr suggested using the Ciprodex prescription drops that they had with them for 4 days. 

My two favorite boys got to play in the sand, sun and water and got some quality time in with Grandma and Grandpa. I'm glad they were able to do that.

Grandma knows how much Hunter loves his lawn mower at home, so she got him one to play with at her house.

Darin's mom made a cheesecake to celebrate Darin's dad's birthday and Darin's birthday.  She also had an Elmo cupcake to celebrate Hunter's birthday.
