Second Set of Ear Tubes

Nine days ago, Hunter was put under general anesthesia for the second time in his short life.  He had his second set of tubes placed in his ears and he had his adenoids removed.  The purpose was to decrease the number of ear infections and make breathing easier for him.  Unfortunately as I type this, Hunter already has another ear infection.  He was tugging on his ear this morning.  Then tonight, I noticed drainage from his ear.  We started the antibiotic drops again tonight.

After 1.5 hours in the recovery room, Hunter was ready to go home.  In the car, he was asking for nemos.  He ate all of the goldfish I had in the car.  When we got home, we put him in his chair and he chowed down for a large, late lunch.  Then, we put him in his crib for a 2 hour nap.  After his nap, he ate a large snack.  He slept well that night.  Unfortunately, the next 5 days and nights did not go as smoothly.  He was not himself during the day and woke up multiple times during the night.  He wasn't eating well either.  In the last couple of days though, Hunter is finally himself again.  The only lingering side effect of the surgery is bad breath. His breath smelled as bad as a dirty diaper.  It is still bad but not nearly as bad as it was in the beginning.  The removal of his adenoids has already made his snoring stop, so we hope that means he is getting better quality sleep now.
