Hunter was 9 months old last Saturday, 3/12. He has had so many changes recently. He started pulling up 2 weeks ago. He cruises the furniture. Hunter even used the wall today to aid him in between furniture. He will walk holding mine or Darin's hands. His favorite sound/word to say is Dada. He understands the word "No" and seems to be understanding even more words each day. Hunter moved out of the baby tub into the big tub for two baths. Hunter's new pulling up skill didn't mix well with the timing of transitioning him to the big tub, so he is now in a big inflatable tub inside the regular tub. Hunter is eating more solid foods. He loves Gerber Puffs and graham crackers. He also likes peas and corn. Hunter stole tortilla chips from Chase when we were all out to dinner celebrating my birthday last weekend. Hunter did really well with them. This past week, Hunter started eating more solids at breakfast and lunch at daycare. For the next couple weeks, Ms Kathy will allow him to try the solids and if he doesn't eat, she will feed him the pureed baby food. He still eats the pureed baby foods very well. He will drink out of a sippy cup but he much prefers to bang the cup on his high chair tray over drinking out of the cup.
Unfortunately, the illnesses continue for Hunter. I took Hunter to see a doctor yesterday morning because he had a fever on Wednesday night and had drainage in his ears and the mucus coming out of his nose was yellowish/greenish. The doctor said both ears were clear and that he felt it was probably allergies not a sinus infection. He suggested that we give Hunter a 1/4 teaspoon of Zyrtec (allery medicine) each day as he believes that Hunter has allergies that didn't show up on the allergy blood test. So, after his appointment yesterday, I took Hunter to daycare. Around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, I got a call from daycare telling me that I needed to come pick Hunter up because he was running a fever. When I got there to pick him up, his cheeks were very flushed but he was acting normal and very happy to see me. I took his temperature when we got home and it was 103.5. After a call to the nurses line at the pediatrician's office, I decided to just wait until his regularly scheduled well visit this afternoon. At his well check up with another doctor, his left ear was infected and the doctor believes that he has a sinus infection. He is on an antibiotic that he has never had in the past, but hopefully it will work quickly for him.
Tomorrow, one of my old coworker friends is taking Hunter's 9 month pictures for us. Hunter got his haircut for the first time last weekend. It was in preparation for his photo session tomorrow.
